PiiP Fun
Need a refresher of your course? Join Gareth & Catherine for some PiiP fun
And you know what they say, "The Best way to learn, is to teach." As Devotees, you could help out the newbies and learn so much yourselves!
Putting it into Practice
What's your favourite game from the Perfect Pet course so far? Which type of games do you and your dog enjoy the most? You should be playing the games well at class or at home and progressing nicely – but the real test is whether you can do it all when out on walks.
Out and about is where it often goes wrong. It's so embarrassing and frustrating when your pooch pulls on lead, or runs off and won't come back, or jumps on people you meet, or pesters other dogs. We understand – so we want to help you put it all into practice.
Join Gareth and Catherine on our Putting It Into Practice (PiiP) course in the beautiful Ards and North Down countryside. PiiP is all about helping you train in the "real world".
This class is held monthly on the FIRST & THIRD Saturdays of every month from 2-3.45pm for graduates of our Perfect Pet training courses and our Devotees.
It is a six-session course which runs over approximately three months.
We meet at various venues throughout Ards and North Down to revise all your Perfect Pet games plus there's loads of added extras too:
- We go to Donaghadee Commons to work on practising with lots of other people and dogs around; Newtownards town centre for town centre walking, waiting outside shops, and dealing with distractions; Ballywalter beach to work on recall and play; Bangor coastal path to work on nosework games and dealing with off lead dogs, Crawfordsburn country park to learn how to make training fun; and Bangor seafront to practice loose lead walking, improve socialisation and enjoy a coffee at the Salty Dog
- You get to put into practice all you've learnt on the Perfect Pet course PLUS you'll learn plenty of new games to play to take your training to the next level
- We'll introduce you to the fun, intriguing and exciting sport of Rally Obedience, and
- You'll learn just how good your dog's nose is and how he can use this wonderful ability to make walks more fun for both of you.
Don't just take our word for how good this course is.
Here's what one Devotee said:
"We had a brilliant PIIP yesterday. The location was ideal to train with distractions, people on foot, kids on push-bikes or on these little scootery things, skateboards, dogs galore, pigeons and we were right in the centre of all this doing parallel walking, then with "oncoming dog traffic" through the middle etc, that was really helpful! At the end of the session, all dogs sat calmly near each other and ignored stuff around them. Thanks so much to Gareth for this session!"
